|
With the increased generation of waste plastics in recent years, great concern for the recycling of them grows in Korea. This study was performed to provide economic and social stretegies for improving collection and recycling efficiency of waste plastics. To improve the recycling source separation system should be established first, and the private business in collection and treatment of recyclables should be encouraged. Of all the possible stretegies, the economic incentives such as government subsidy, product charge, deposit - refund system and buffer stock scheme are the strongest. For the better recycling of waste plastics, comprehensive stretegies should be used. This paper discusses social stretegies such as organization of citizen groups as well as economic incentives.
